Terms of Use
These terms cover how you can use the site, what’s allowed, and what isn’t.
What VentSpot is
A free, anonymous public chat room where people can express themselves. It is not a mental health service, not a crisis line, and not a substitute for professional support. By using the site, you agree to these terms.
Eligibility
You must be at least 13 to use VentSpot. By joining the room, you're confirming that you meet this requirement.
What you post is your responsibility
The chat is public. Anything you write can be seen by anyone in the room. Don't write anything you'd regret a stranger reading, and don't share personal information about yourself or others.
We're not responsible for what other users say. Their words aren't ours.
What's not allowed
The details are in the community guidelines. The short version: no harassment, no detailed self-harm content, no sharing people's personal information, no spam or advertising, nothing illegal.
We may remove content or restrict access to users who violate these rules.
This is not a crisis service
If you're in crisis or thinking about harming yourself, please reach out to someone trained to help. In the US, call or text 988. See the support page for resources worldwide.
The service is provided as-is
VentSpot is provided "as is." We don't guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that other users will behave appropriately, though we do actively moderate toward that goal.
Limitation of liability
VentSpot and its operators are not liable for the content posted by users in the room, or for decisions made based on peer support received here. Use your judgment, and use the crisis resources linked throughout the site if you need more than a vent.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms occasionally. Continued use of VentSpot after an update means you accept the revised terms.
