We keep very little data and we don't sell or share it. Here's the full picture in plain language. Last updated March 2026.
What we collect
Almost nothing. You don't create an account, so we have no name, email address, or personal identifier linked to you.
When you visit, our server logs your IP address, the page you requested, the time, and your browser type. This is standard for any web server. We use it only to keep the service running and diagnose technical problems — not to profile or track you.
Chat messages
Messages you post are visible to anyone in the chat room at that moment. We don't permanently store chat history. The nickname you choose isn't linked to anything and isn't retained beyond your session.
Please don't post your real name, location, or contact details — in the chat or anywhere on the site. The same goes for information about anyone else.
Cookies and tracking
No advertising cookies. No cross-site trackers. No analytics tools that follow you around the web. We may set a minimal session cookie to maintain your connection to the chat room — it contains no personal information and expires when you close your browser.
Third-party services
We load fonts from Google Fonts. Your browser sends a standard request to Google's servers when it downloads them. We don't share personal data with Google or use any other third-party tracking.
Data sharing
We don't sell your data. We don't share it with advertisers, data brokers, or commercial third parties. The only circumstance where we'd share anything is a legally valid court order.
Age
Vent Chat isn't intended for anyone under 13. If you're under 13, please don't use this service.
Changes
If we make meaningful changes to how we handle data, we'll update this page and the date at the top. We won't change things in ways that affect you negatively without being upfront about it.
